Alexander Satohin
For over a decade, I’ve been working in the field of dangerous goods logistics. While the industry is built on strong regulatory frameworks and deep expertise, too many companies still lack clear, practical understanding of their legal and safety responsibilities. This knowledge gap impacts every part of the supply chain.
Over the next 30 – 40 years, I’m committed to helping close that gap by making compliance easier to understand and implement, sharing knowledge openly and applying innovations that prevent incidents before they occur. I believe companies involved in transporting dangerous goods should be well-informed, properly motivated and fairly rewarded for doing things right.
Through ADRplus, I focus on practical improvements – clearly visible packaging labels and placards, accurate documentation, trained personnel and robust systems aligned with ADR, RID, IMDG, IATA and ADN regulations.
The mission is clear – make safe, compliant transport not just a legal requirement but the industry standard.

Timeline

ADR safety adviser (DGSA) certificate obtained
It began in 2015 while I was working in logistics, coordinating road freight across Europe. A new project in dangerous-goods transport was being developed, including plans to purchase specialised vehicles. As operations involving dangerous goods require a certified adviser, I completed the training and earned the ADR Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) qualification. Although the project was never implemented and the vehicles were not purchased, this experience became the starting point of my career as a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser.

First hazard signs produced
Transporting dangerous goods also requires accurate and compliant marking of both packaging and vehicles. Clients increasingly asked where to buy hazard placards that fully meet legal requirements. After analysing the market, it became clear – there was no local manufacturer specialising in hazard signs who truly understood the specifications and could deliver compliant, high-quality products. To ensure our clients receive correct and durable markings, tailored to the specific goods they transport and helping them avoid costly fines, we decided to begin producing our own transport hazard placards and packaging labels that meet all relevant regulations.

First international client
As our work expanded and new contracts were signed to cover all aspects of dangerous goods transport and shipping, we received our first request to provide advisory services to a client abroad. Since the ADR Convention is recognised in 54 countries, certificates and authorisations issued in one member state are valid across all signatory countries. After consulting with the local transport authority, we confirmed that such cooperation was permitted and legally recognised. This led to the signing of our first international DGSA consulting agreement with a transport company based in Denmark. This became a turning point in understanding that our services and products can bring value to transport companies far beyond Latvia. It also opened the door to international cooperation. Soon after, advisory contracts were also signed with companies in Sweden and Lithuania

Creating the ADRplus brand
After a decade in the dangerous goods transport industry, a clear vision emerged – how to bring real value to the sector by improving safety, compliance and awareness among all participants in the supply chain. This vision led to the creation of ADRplus – a brand uniting three core directions – professional consulting, production and sale of compliant marking materials and online training. ADRplus also serves as an international knowledge platform, sharing information on regulations, best practices and procedures related to the safe transport of dangerous goods.
